Classical Garden Room with Lanterns – Stamford Architectural Design

Project Summary
We met this client just after lockdown. They had already explored a few aluminium solutions for their home extension but weren’t inspired by the simple, plain extrusions typical of aluminium designs. Our Stamford architectural design team proposed a more classical approach, incorporating fluted pilasters and an eaves entablature to create a timeless aesthetic. The client immediately loved this sophisticated alternative.
Inside, two elegant lanterns, one over the kitchen and another above the living area which flood the space with natural light, while a six-metre-wide set of opening bi-folds seamlessly connects the interior to the garden. The combination of classical design elements with modern functionality results in a stunning, practical addition to an already beautiful home.
The client’s recently revamped garden perfectly complements the extension, highlighting how the large bi-folds create a strong connection between indoor and outdoor living spaces. This project exemplifies our expertise in bespoke garden rooms, lantern-style roofs, and classical architectural detailing, delivering spaces that are both visually striking and highly functional.
